The prompt for yesterday was “Vintage” – the area I live in our downtown has lots of antique stores.
This wheel sits prominently outside one of those stores.
Sadly, the store is no longer open for business. So all the items that sit outside just continue to rust and show their age.
I still find this piece to be fascinating, no idea how long it has been propped up next to this building or where it originally came from.
But it definitely fits the bill for being a vintage piece.

Today’s prompt was “texture” – so I zoomed in on this lily.
Sure enough, I was right. As I was leaving the Y after my workout, I see this new bouquet of flowers.
This time it was full of lily’s. So since today’s prompt was texture, I decided to focus on the petals.
They have so much color and the texture of the petals is really detailed.
Flowers just fascinate me anyway, I love how we have so much variety when it comes to colors and types and how they instantly add beauty to their surroundings.

Today’s prompt was “No Diet” in honor of National No Diet Day.
I definitely like this day. I allow myself at least one day a week where I don’t worry about what I am eating. It usually happens on the weekends, but I’ve been doing so well lately. Jayson bought us pizza today and Hershey’s dunkers. They were heavenly, but ridiculously sweet.
I need to get back into the habit of tracking my calories again, I’ve slacked off a bit lately. But I’ve got it down now. I know what foods are high in calories and I tend to avoid them.
I’m learning that if I outright deny myself foods like pizza or chocolate, I’ll just end up caving and then eating it anyway and overdoing it. So, the old cliche – everything in moderation – holds true. As long as I don’t make it a habit to eat pizza or other foods rich in calories and only eat them once in a while, it shouldn’t sabotage anything I’ve accomplished so far.

Today my family and I spent time at a friend’s house.
Today was the Kentucky Derby, so we hung out for the afternoon at Pam’s house. Her and her husband, Randy, are part of my Sunday School class. They live in a beautiful home on the outskirts of Horse Cave. They have this amazing view.
I took this picture while sitting on one of their porch swings, it was just so calm and peaceful.
I really enjoyed spending time out at Pam’s. We had close to 50 people show up, all for a race that lasts 2 minutes, but when you are surrounded by good company, it doesn’t really matter.

The prompt yesterday was “eyes” – I decided to take a picture of Cauner’s eyes.
All three of my children were born with blue eyes. Their dads have green eyes, I have blue eyes.
Now I noticed maybe a year ago or so, that Cauner’s eyes would look green. I thought I was seeing things because when I would look closely at his eyes they were blue.
This photo kind of shows what I mean, I can see near his pupil that his eye is a light shade of green and the outer color is blue.
It fascinates me that his eyes may permanently change color, or they may just do what his dad’s eyes do and change based on his mood. LOL!

Every few days the table right beside the exit to the Y has a pretty new flower bouquet.
Today’s bouquet was peonies.
I’m actually proud of myself for knowing this flower, even if I did Google it to be sure.
It’s nice seeing new flowers every few days, my guess is that some of the members bring them in from their gardens.
Either way, it really does brighten the place up and usually brings a smile to my face.

I took another walk at the park today.
Discovered that one lap is 1/2 mile by using one of the apps on my phone.
I met up with my friend Angelie, we ended up doing 2 miles total. It’s definitely nice having someone to walk with, I need to work on my pacing. She mentioned and herbal extract that she is going to let me try to see if it helps with my shin splints. I was noticing that my left shin was bothering me, it wasn’t a horrible pain, but it was troublesome.
While walking, I decided I wanted to take a picture of this bench. There are several spots along the path where they placed benches. This one just stood out to me, I really liked the old rustic feel to this one.

Today’s prompt was “peace” – I opted to use Scripture.
One of my favorite verses is from Philippians 4:7 which says, “And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Well that is one of many of my favorite verses, but I loved the idea of taking a picture of the verse in my bible. Sometimes I forget and get anxious, and when I need peace in my soul, He brings it.
Sometimes all I need is a gentle reminder, which is why I highlight and underline things in my bible.

Today is another “off prompt” picture.
Our homeschool group met today for a park day. I haven’t actually been to this park and didn’t realize it has a walking path around it.
I planned on walking, so I wore my sneakers today. A pleasant surprise was one lap on the path was one full mile. So I walked three miles today.
It felt nice being outside and getting exercise.
I knew that since I wouldn’t get a chance to go to the Y, this definitely made up for it.
While walking with my friend, Susan, she told me before they put the fence up, there was a path to get to a creek. Well I found the path and snapped a picture of the creek.
The weather today was perfect. It was breezy and warm. The kids had fun just hanging out with their friends and I enjoyed being able to spend time with my friends and getting a little exercise in too.

I went “off prompt” today and for good reason, I think.
We started our worship service with two baptisms.
What better way to start a service, than with a celebration.
It just seems to set the tone for the rest of the service.
The young lady being baptized is named Taylor, she is one of Jorja’s friends.
